wow from US just wondering why did your fam pick maleny? its nice and peaceful there. i live on the sunshine coast aswell. look for jobs at maroochydore, noosa, caloundra, moololabah, nambour, coolum or coolum beach area. they are the larger towns on the coast. and dont worry brisbane is over 1hr drive away. i dont have sites for you atm but if i find some ill let you no.

I love Malaney, its a great place, same as surrounding towns like Monville, Mapplton, Ocean View, etc…Can you do something for work on-line from home? That would be cool, God i miss that town sometimes, but than again it was just too quiet for me, so I moved back to Sydney. One thing i would do myself is commence an e-marketing service on-line specialising in Real Estate. Here in Australia our networking sites are so far behind the US its not funny, some of the US Real Estate sites are awesome!

I live on the Sunny Coast and jobs are hard to find (well decent ones anyway!) Maleny is a pretty town but not much work there. Like so many migrants you are choosing to live somewhere 'nice' without thought to work - big mistake!
I'm afraid what I have found in Australia, you either live and work in the Cities and survive or you live somewhere regional and pretty and….struggle. Don't forget there aren't that many people in oz, especially where you're heading! Most seem to buy themselves a job (small businesses)
      Good luck
